WWE Supershow Down 2019 Card Analysis
Kick-off show- The Usos(Jimmy and Jey Uso) v The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder)
Result- The Usos defeated the Revival following a double superkick.
Analysis-Good match! Good ending!
After that contract issue with WWE, The Revival hasn't been booked too good and the Usos were favorites in this match. But this match hasn't affected anything in the tag team division.
1. Seth Rollins v Baron Corbin for the WWE Universal Championship.
Result-Seth Rollins retained the championship following a roll up.
Analysis-The result was nearly expected as WWE fans wouldn't want Corbin to be the Universal champion at this stage. But the post-match assault from Rollins to Brock Lesnar was superb. He failed Lesnar's cash-in attempt by hitting a low-blow just like Wrestlemania 35 and then assaulted Lesnar by hitting him with a steel chair. It seems that Vince McMahon wants to give Rollins a long run as the Universal champion and with Raw's TV rating falling down, WWE really need this.
Grade-B-
2.Finn Balor v Andrade for the Intercontinental championship
Result-Balor pinned Andrade following the CoupDe Grace to retain the title.
Analysis-Not that good as we expected. Andrade without Zelina Vega was very odd to watch. Balor retaining the title was a good choice but Andrade winning the title would have been same good.
Grade-C+
3. Shane McMahon v Roman Reigns
Result-Shane McMahon defeated Roman Reigns.
Analysis-One of the greatest wins for Shane McMahon in his WWE career but it wouldn't be possible without Drew McIntyre. It would have been good if McIntyre defeated Reigns at Wrestlemania 35 rather than Shane defeating him at Supershow down. Reigns is one of the top faces of the company and this defeat would really put up a long rivalry between him and McIntyre which is starting at Stomping Grounds.
Grade-B-
4. Lars Sullivan v The lucha house party (Kalisto, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik)
Result-Lars Sullivan beat the Lucha house party by disqualification.
Analysis-There is no chance on earth that Lars Sullivan lose to the Lucha house party. The finish of the match was not that good. It would've been better if Sullivan won clear after dismantling his opponents.
Grade-D+
5. Randy Ortan v Triple H
Result-Randy Ortan defeated Triple H following a'RKO'.
Analysis-One of the best matches of the event or probably the best. Ortan faced Triple H in their first one-on-one match since 2010.It was very well worked match. Everything was fine, except the length of the match. It would be better if the match would've ended in less time.
Grade-A-
6. Braun Strowman v Bobby Lashley
Result-Strowman pinned Lashley after a running powerslam
Analysis-A match that can be termed as 'nothing special'. Another Braun Strowman match with no use. WWE should give Strowman the required big push and stop booking Strowman in these useless matches.
Grade-C-
7. Kofi Kingston(c) v Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Championship
Result-Kingston beat Ziggler following a trouble in paradise.
Analysis- A good match with a not-so-good finish. Xavier Woods kicked Ziggler while the referee was distracted allowing Kofi to execute a trouble in paradise and retain his championship. The frustration by Ziggler post-match was very astonishing.
Grade-B-
8. 51-men Battle Royal
Winner: Mansoor after lastly eliminating Elias.
Analysis-Another 'Useless' match in the card with nothing effecting the winner at all. Nothing to take away from the match but it was awesome for the local fans to witness a winner of their own nation.
Grade-D+
Main Event:The Undertaker v Goldberg
Result-The Undertaker defeated Goldberg following a Chokeslam.
Analysis-One of the worst main event match ever with the match receiving nearly negative reviews.
Two WWE legends who were in their 50s, struggled to put up the show and failed to live up to the expectations. The main event was just awful to watch.
Grade-D-
Overall grade for Supershow down 2019: C+
