Sunrisers Hyderabad thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders by 9 wickets in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad yesterday in first of the two games of Super Sunday.
Winning the toss, SRH's captain Kane Williamson decided to bowl first and KKR got to a flying start thanks to their openers. But then also, they managed to score only 159/8 in 20 overs. Chris Lynn was the top scorer of KKR's inning,scoring 51 of 47 balls Rinku Singh contributed 30 of 25 balls while Sunil Narayan hit 25 of 8 balls. Khaleel Ahmed took 3 wickets while Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets.
In reply, SRH's openers again played ruthlessly and struck a century partnership for the 1st wicket. Jonny Bairstow hit 80* of just 43 balls while David Warner scored 67 runs of 38 balls. These two batsmen bought SRH home in just 15 overs and 9 wickets remaining. Prithvi Raj of KKR took SRH's only wicket.
Khaleel Ahmed was adjusted Man of the match for his brilliant spell of 3/33 in 4 overs.
With this win, SRH stand at 4th position with 10 points in 9 games while KKR move to the 6th spot with 8 points in 10 games.
