Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Chennai Super Kings by 1 run in a Nail-biting encounter here at M. Chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore on Sunday.

Winning the toss, Chennai's captain MS Dhoni elected to bowl first. Virat kohli and Ab De Villers were dismissed in the first 10 overs but wickets keeper Parthiv Patel hit a good knock of 53 runs in 37 balls. He was assisted by Moeen Ali(26 of 16) and De Villers(25 of 19) to help RCB post a fighting total of 161/7 in 20 overs. Deepak Chahar, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo shared 2-2 wickets amongst themselves.
In reply, CSK lost their 1st wicket in only the first over of the match. CSK again saw a top-order batting collapse. Then came MS Dhoni who single-handedly changed the game. MSD scored 84* runs of just 48 deliveries. He was assisted by Ambati Rayudu who scored 29 of 29 balls. The match went in the last over where 26 runs were needed and Umesh Yadav bowled the final over. MS Dhoni hit 24 runs of the first 5 balls but the last ball saw Parthiv Patel hit the bails to affect the run out of Shardul Thakur and thus RCB won the match by 1 run. Dale Steyn and Umesh Yadav both took 2 wickets each.

With this win, RCB are still in the running to make it through to the playoffs with 6 points in 10 matches while CSK lead the table with 14 points in 10 matches.
