Winning the toss, Rajasthan's new captain Steven Smith decided to bowl first. MI's opener De kock scored a brilliant 50.He struck 65 runs of 47 balls and cameos from Suryakumar Yadav (34 of 33 balls) and Hardik Pandya(23 of 15 balls) helped MI post a fighting total of 161/5 in 20 overs. Shreyas Gopal took 2 wickets and conceded only 21 runs in 4 overs.
In reply, Rahane's out of form continued and he was dismissed very early. After that Sanju Samson and captain Smith bought Royals' innings back to the track by building a good partnership. Soon after Samson and Stokes wickets, 17-year old wonder Riyan Parag came out to bat and impressed everyone by scoring a marvellous knock of 43 runs in just 29 balls. Captain Smith scored 59* of 48 balls and Samson scored 35 of 19 balls to take Rajasthan home by 5 wickets with 5 balls to spare. Rahul Chahat took 3 wickets for 29 runs.

With this win, Royals keep their hopes alive for the playoffs with 6 points in 9 games while Mumbai Indians stand in 2nd position with 12 points in 10 games.
