IPL 2019 FINAL CSK vs MI 12/05/19

Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings in a nail-biting encounter by just 1 run in the finals of VIVO IPL 2019 to win their 4th IPL title here at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.

Winning the toss, MI skipper Rohit Sharma elected to bat first and gave MI a flying start. Quinton de Kock hit 29 of just 17 balls while Ishan Kishan hit 23 of 26 balls but it was the 'Birthday Boy' Kieron Pollard who finished things off in style by scoring 41* of just 25 balls to help MI post a fighting total of 149/8 in 20 overs. Deepak Chahar took 3 wickets while Imran Tahir and Shardul Thakur took 2 wickets each for CSK.

 In reply, Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson gave CSK a flying start but after the dismissal of Faf du Plessis, things started to go in favour of Mumbai Indians. Faf hit 26 of 13 balls. Then the usual middle-order collapse began for CSK and even MS Dhoni got run out by Ishan kishan's direct hit. But, Watson kept on scoring runs and finally was dismissed in the final over after hitting 80 of 59 balls. 9 runs were required of the final over which was bowled by Malinga. Tensions increased when CSK required 2 of the final bowl and Malinga bowled beautifully which was missed by Shardul Thakur and was given LBW. Thus MI won this match by 1 run.
