IPL 2019 MI vs SRH 02/05/19

Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in a nail-biting super over encounter here at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday to book their place for the playoffs.

Winning the toss, MI skipper Rohit Sharma elected to bat first and MI managed to post 162/5 in 20 overs thanks to a brilliant knock from Quinton de Kock who scored 69* of 58 balls and Rohit Sharma(24 of 18 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (23 of 17 balls). Khaleel Ahmed took 3/42 in 4 overs for SRH while Nabi and Bhuvneshwar Kumar got a wicket each.
In reply, Manish Pandey put his full effort to lead SRH to victory by scoring 71* of 47 balls while Nabi hit 31 of 20 balls and Saha scored 25 of 15 balls but fell short by just one run as SRH too scored 162/6 in 20 overs. Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets each for MI. 7 runs were required off the final delivery and Manish Pandey hit a brilliant six to bring the game in the super over.
In the super over SRH lost both their wickets in only 4 balls and managed to hit only 8 runs. Nabi scored a nice six but Bumrah bowled beautifully and bowled Nabi on a superb Yorker.
In reply, MI finished the target in just 3 balls as Hardik Pandya hit a six to Rashid Khan on the 1st ball, took a single on the 2nd ball and Kieron Pollard took 2 runs on the 3rd ball to take MI home.

Winner
Jasprit Bumrah was adjusted man of the match for taking 2 wickets and bowling that wonderful super over for Mumbai Indians.
With this win, Mumbai Indians qualify for the playoffs and stand at 2nd position with 16 points in 13 matches while Hyderabad still keep themselves alive in the race for the playoffs as they stand on 4th place with 12 points in 13 games.
